It's a city wide issue. Has been for years. You need designated traffic enforcement that does nothing but traffic enforcement during the shift. I'm not 100% sure about today but years ago I had a friend that worked Springfield traffic and that's all he did for the entire shift.

When the light turns green at The intersection of East st and Beauchamp terrace I count 3 Mississippi's and sometimes that's still not enough.

Traffic enforcement is a daily responsibility for all officers. You can check our daily log and see the motor vehicle stops they are making in between all the other calls for service. We are using all the resources we have available to us right now for traffic enforcement, including working with other outside agencies.
